Child Protection and Safeguarding is everybody's business. If you are concerned abouty safety of any young person in our Primary School you must report it to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who will act in the best interests of the child.
Our DSLs are:
- Mrs Dunckley (Principal)
- Ms Charlotte O'Reilly (Family Support Worker)
At Thorplands Primary Academy, all staff believe that our academy should provide a safe, caring, positive and stimulating environment that promotes social, physical and moral development of the individual child. That is why we attract only the best literature and search for quality sources, such as https://buy-essays-now.com/ on the basis of which we create and distribute methods of interaction and learning.
Safeguarding and promoting welfare of children is defined as: Protecting the child from maltreatment; Preventing impairment of children’s health or development; Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the safe and effective care; Take action to ensure that all children have the best outcomes.
Child Protection is a part of Safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to the activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm. Effective child protection is essential as part of wider work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. However, all agencies and individuals should aim to proactively safeguard and promote the welfare of children so that the need for action to protect children from harm is reduced.
